The Cairngorms National Park

If you fancy venturing further afield, there are numerous stunning places to visit. For ‘Nessie’ hunters or for those who simply want to take in the beauty of the famous loch, Loch Ness is only a short drive away. Likewise, the picturesque Cairngorms National Park  is also close-by and offers everything from gentle walks to a complete range of more adventurous outdoor activities.

Fishing Lochs, Rivers & Sea

For the fishing enthusiast, superb salmon fishing is available on the River Ness, which flows directly through the city and is therefore readily accessible. This river is one of the most productive salmon fishing rivers in the north of Scotland and permits for the Inverness Angling Association beat can be obtained from local city centre shop, Grahams. Throughout the surrounding area there is an abundance of fishing opportunities, be it loch, river or sea.
